The recovery project had planted 8,335 native species trees in the Santa Barbara River’s spring - the region’s main fresh water resource. The area is composed by two large water springs and connects the region’s remaining Atlantic Coastal forest fragments
The project is an awareness effort focused on the region’s small land owners about the importance of the riparian areas and forest’s conservation to the local community and economy.
